Author: Webmaster
Minelab CTX 3030- First ImpressionsBy Chris ValerioMany years ago I was visiting a metal detector dealer who sold machines out of his house. It just happened that day a Minelab representative was also in the house! Boy it was my lucky day and I could pepper him all sorts of detector questions. So I did and one nagging concern was, “When will Minelab build a waterproof FBS Explorer?” His response was not exactly what I wanted to hear nor expected. He simply stated that Minelab was happy with the current FBS Excalibur/Sovereign technology. That’s all folks! Much to my disappointment, there would be no waterproof FBS machine on the horizon. I had often thought if the 17 frequencies of BBS performed well on saltwater beaches, then the increased frequencies of an FBS machine would be even better? Later the detector dealer implied that Minelab might be having problems with FBS in saltwater. That seemed reasonable, so I swallowed that misnomer hook, line and sinker. Heck, I was...[more]

EVERYTHING AT BONE 21 HAS OPENINGS

The Sunday seeded hunt with a minimum of $3,000 in old coins buried & 10 tokens of various metals numbered 1 to 10 are also buried, by Hunt Master Brian Thomas & security Howard Johnson. Following the awarding of token prizes, there is a drawing for a $1,000 treasure chest (made and donated by James Haskins).

THEN the drawing for the prizes in our National Fund Raiser raffle for
1st Prize (drawn last) Minelab CTX 3030 land and underwater metal detector, which retails at Streeters in Marlborough for $2499.95.
2nd prize (drawn 2nd) a Garrett AT Pro metal detector for land and under water to -10 feet, which retails at Streeters in Marlborough, NH for $699.95
3rd Prize (drawn 1st) a Garrett Ace 350 Metal detector with I. D., depth reading, double D coin & a volumn control headphones.

The Wednesday Free natural Hunt is now at the Peter Sawyer Farm, which is called the Silver Ranch, Inc. Its been a Sawyer farm for 6 or 7 generations. See all information about all our hunt sites on Yahoo or Google. When viewing the Sawyer farm and Whitt Hill Rd. The fields we have permission to hunt are the 3 northern fields. Parking is the problem. Looking at Google Earth up the road and down a little hill is a field on right where you can see tire tracks and park. Steve said you could park here and cut through s clearing to the hunt site or walk along the dirt road back to the hunt fields. This site is for the fit and harty only and am told the rewards could and should be tremendous. So why such a great hunt site for a free hunt, in appreciation of the support given us by members who travel here a great distance. BONE has popular thanks to my friends from CT and this why you see so many of them being inducted into our Treasure Hunters Hall of fame. Thank you Jesse!!!
The Thursday BONE and Friday's Minelab Natural Hunts are at the Dublin Christian Academy, 106 Page Rd, Dublin, NH. 03444. To hunt here we donated 2 metal detectors (one to the Academy for their own use and one for a Academy fund raise) and $300. Because w of the land history, the hills and pond and its traffic, we kown there are deeply buried older & neat finds to be found here. It should be as good as last year at Camp Glen Brook.
Because our good friend Steve Baldwin (the castiron stove man) is friends of the Moody's he insisted on being a hunt master and try to make sure no one makes us look like dirt bags,.

We have covered our bases and if by chance any of our hunts are canceled, rain checks will be given..

The suppers on Friday and Saturday still have room will be great with the best cuts of meat. Each has a 5:30 happy hour and the meals are around 7:pm with a happy hour at the Italian Club at 990 Wood St., Keene, NH. Both Martin Miffek and I are members here and we have played many a comnpetive dart game here. Martin is the expert Dart player and team captain & if it were not for him, I would be home drinking tea, watching TV and wishing I had a night time hobby. Dennis is planning each supper for 70 and we will have speakers and door prizes.

The hobby show is Satrurday 8:30am - 3:30pm at the Keene Recreation Center, 312 Washington St., Keene, NH. Workshops still be be figured out. Agreeing to do workshops are Minelab Americas & Tech John Watson, Whites of New England and new owner Tony Bronga and wHites best detectors, Steve Baldwin likes and uses a Garrett AT Pro & Ace 350 and will provide pointers and answwer questions.. He is also a new Excalibur user who has hunted with the pros so much, he became one and he will talk about his Minelab Excalibur II 1000., Lance Comfort and Jason Sevene will give pointers and talk about there style of hunting. There may be others who I forgot. Lets hope not.

The Awards banquet is fun, happy and those who deserve to make and receive awards have a great time. Its happy 5:30pm (dart board here too) & and Roast Beef by Dennis DeWeerdt and crew. We will pass the hat for Jeanine who cooked the last 15 yearly meals at BONE, and who was recently injuried and unavble to work. She got us a hot dog wagon for the show and is helping Dennis with the food for suppers and we hope she attends the things she never had time for before. We will hear about BONE finds and the latest from all who are willing toi share!!

The Sunday seeded hunt with a minimum of $3,000 in old coins buried & 10 tokens of various metals numbered 1 to 10 with at least a $50 value are also buried. Doing the burying are Hunt Master Brian Thomas & security Howard Johnson. Following the awarding of token prizes, there is a drawing for a $1,000 treasure chest (made and donated by James Haskins).

The Special Wednesday hunt has a new location.  To prevent problems new tickets are being sent to all who signed up for anything.
