Mini Sluice Box - A51
Have you ever wanted to look for gold in your area. I live in Greenfield MA. And not far from my house I found gold. With all of the rain lately. I have not been able to take my kids out panning yet. Panning for gold is a lot of work. And very slow. When I got into panning. I told myself that I would also get a Sluice box. You can move more material faster. And it is easier on you. Less of a pain in the back. You can make a box if you like. In the old days they use to use dowels. But to make things easy for you. And faster to get started. I would buy a sluice box.

You will most likely be at  a brook. So you don't want a really big sluice box. But you don't want a small one either. The big box will make it hard for you to set up. But it is really easy to clog up a small box. So what to get. Get the middle size one. Like the Keene A51 model. The dimensions on this box are 36" x 10" x 4.5". The sluice box weight is about 12 pounds. It is made of aluminum. It has a nice handle on the side of it. The position of the handle makes the sluice box balanced. So you can carry it easily. You could easily put it in a garden wagon with your other tools if needed. At the beginning of the box. You have a piece of black rubber. It makes those little nuggets show up really fast. The riffle set up is welded together. It is very sturdy. And ready for a lot of use for a long time. To hold down the carpet and riffle set up. You have 2 heavy duty latches. Once you undo the latches. It is easy to take apart and get ready to clean you carpet. I give this item 5 stars. For under a $100. This unit will last a long time. Easy to carry around and use. And it is very well constructed. The cost is about $99 at your local hobby store.
