Upon purchasing this set of gold pans, I had absolutely no clue about gold. This was even before I began metal detecting. Even having no clue I knew the basic concept of how to pan for gold. I understood that gold was a very heavy rock, and that the 90º levels in the pans would catch gold.

My first time trying panning for gold was on a bag of sand and dirt that has placer gold inside of it. This is a great way to begin. You always should do it this way, and then you know you’re panning correctly when you find gold. If for some reason you weren’t finding any gold, then you know something wasn’t being done properly.

This set has a multiple variety of pans ranging in size and type. There are 3 sizes and an extra large pan to get rid of the larger rocks that you don’t want to be messing around with, unless it’s a huge chunk of gold. :-P

The kit also comes with some accessories. There are tweezers and gold suction tool, and couple little bottles to hold your gold. You also receive a couple reading material in which to learn how to find gold through panning and also learn some tricks of the trade. They also have a couple good stories throughout.
