Garrett GTI 2500Garrett.JPG

Well I tried out my hunting partner's detector which is the Garrett GTI 2500. It is a pretty complicated machine for starters, its pretty complicated to program, but I am also a beginner. (well I only have about 5 years of detecting under my belt and my machine is a turn on and go type) Anyways once I kinda got the hang of it the machine was pretty impresive. The display was awesome, easy to read and the depth and size feature was incredibly accurate. As for the treasure talk feature I found it incredibly annoying! Thank god there is also a mute feature or I would have lost my mind. The arm cradle could have used a strap to keep the detector in place. And the battery pack should have had a higher bracket for when you put the detector on the ground. Or sealed a little better. One thing that sticks in my mind is the time my buddy placed the machine down and the groung was a little wet and moisture got inside it and started acting up. That was the end of detecting until it dried out.

Overall with a few modifications to this machine I would have to say that it is pretty sweet and I would have to recommend it to anyone that has experience with metal detectors. Or if your just starting out just be patient and this machine will treat you well.
