The 3rd Nassau trip was September 22 to 28, 2009. The 5 who went were Jim Corbett Princeton, NJ, David Whitman, Princeton Jct, NJ, George Streeter, Marlborough, NH, Phillip “Mr. Gold Master” Silverstein and Big Dan Hennessey, W Yarmouth, MA
Dave Whitman volunteer to drive & help Jim Corbett with cooking the meals and the others helped load up & clean up.
We detected hard, ate well & had a great time finding valuables in front of the big resorts & at public beaches. The gold champs this trip were Mr. Gold Master and Dave Whitman. Streeter only found 5 items including a 18K & platinum ring, 2 diamonds & a necklace & pendent. Big Dan found 1 diamond ring, however Dan also was able to find and return an expensive engagement ring & for his efforts he was rewarded with $150. He also spent 2 days looking for another lost 1ct engagement ring, however I think this one may have ended up in another goodies bag.
Because electricity is same as US, converters are not needed. The villa included 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, living & dinning area and 2 baths, plus a computer with internet & printer, TV’s in every room, washer, dryer, a cell phone, free calling to USA and a car to use. All this & a big swimming pool for $1200. a week. If interested in renting here contact owner Angela Cleare and check out on internet at http://www.vrbo.com/170953

Food on the Islands, in food stores & eating places is usually expensive. We all help out to save money, by bringing every day items to use from home, like coffee, coffee filters, creamer, sugar, mustard, ketchup, pancake mix & syrup, dry cereal, laundry & dishwasher detergent, fabric sheets, paper towel, large plastic trash bags to cover the seats of rental vehicle & to put trash in. I found some vehicle renters charged extra if car was returned with wet seats or if full of sand. So we cover the seats & line the trunk with plastic to make clean up better & to save us money. Don Foster usually brings Green Mountain Coffee, Creamer & Sugar
To prevent misery, we usually bring a spare U/W detector.
This was our 2nd Sept trip here & last September 2008, the water was also in the 80s & clear and the finds awesome. When metal detecting in the sea, I usually wear a mask, snorkel & booties and some guys bring and wear a wet suit.
